About Codico

Codico was set up in 1988 to market and service Domino continuous inkjet printers and drop on demand printers, to the packaging industry in Ireland. We are now 20 years in business. The demand for printing variable information at high speed, became a major issue as companies strived for faster production lines for their products. Within a very short space of time we were selling into all industry sectors.

The coding requirements ranged from single line printing up to eight lines of print. Print size from 0.6mm in height up to 100mm. Customers wanted to be able to print Logo’s and barcodes. Incremental and decremental numbering as well as random numbering and addressing. Batch Codes, Shift Codes and Traceability codes were also high on the list.

We then discovered that there was a need for more and more types of ink with colour variations. Ink that could change colour, would dry in less than 1 second, was to military specification, UV readable, alkali washable and able to adhere to bottles wet with condensation. The list is endless.

There then followed IP65 rated machines, Pinpoint print technology for the most discrete codes, and the patented "Freeform" Software, which gives us Near Letter Quality Print.

Building the machines, inks and software up to the various regulatory standards including 21 CFR Part 11 and GAMP


Through Domino we achieve the market demands by offering the :

    S Series + - DSP plus Scribing lasers for high speed indelible marking.
    K Series + - High definition multi-line graphics printers.

   M Series + - Print and Apply Labels.
    V Series + - Thermal Transfer Printing.
    L Series + - Low Cost Multi-Line Graphics Printer.
    Electrox    -   Nd:Yag, Yb:Fibre, UV Laser Systems.

We then drove our service department to achieve less than 24 hour response times in any part of Ireland. There is overnight delivery for Inks and Spares, and to keep up with this service and support we opened offices in Newry Co. Down and Clonee just outside Dublin. Codico now averages an emergency breakdown response time of 8 working hours.

Domino UK Limited are based in Cambridge. Turnover is in excess £250m and they are a publicly quoted UK company who spend about 6% on R+D. Domino have strategic partnership agreements with Krones GmBH of Germany &Tetra Pak of Sweden to name two, both leading players in their respective industries.

Electrox, based in Letchworth, are a new addition to the Codico range of companies. Marketing their ND:Yag Lasers and workstations allows us to support our existing customers and develop new ones. Their products cover an array of market sectors, including computer equipment, automotive, electronic, medical implants etc etc. The Lasers can Mark, Laser Etch and Engrave nearly any material known.

Wiedenbach have been manufacturing specalist inkjet printers and handling systems since 1983. They were aquired by Domino to access the Cable and Wire Industry and their excellent technology and inks

Domino aquired Sator Laser of Germany in 2005 to build on their already enviable position in the CO2 Laser Market. Sator have been working extensively with IWK, Uhlmann, Medi-Seal and Kontra to name but some. Their knowledge of the specalist Laser Market is wide spread and they build dedicated systems for one off applications.

Domino's aquisition of Easyprint in Denmark saw Codico move from Allen Coding to this superior range of Thermal Transfer Printers. Unique Ribbon saving features together with a larger and more robust software and hardware system.

This is Domino and Codico's first venture into Print and Apply Labelling Systems. The need within our portfolio to be in a position to offer a leading Print and Apply product moved Domino twoards the Mectec Range from Sweden.
We now have 4 different ways to apply a label on a box, carton or pallett.
Left and right hand mounting operations and the M series can place a label on a product up to 1300mm away from the print head.
